Brian not only pushes himself to learn new technologies, he also enjoys teaching others what he has learned so they can excel. Brian is an artist and looks at all projects as an opportunity for expression, whether visually or functionally, and not just a means to an end of another work day. His works are uniquely his and his passion to do them encourages others to push themselves and enjoy doing so. He has had many different roles in the workplace which gives him the ability to communicate and empathize with others. I enjoyed having him as a co-worker for many years.
Brian is an incredibly talented designer. His creativity never ceases to impress my clients and me. I’ve had multiple clients increase spending based upon his unique ideas or designs. He’s also excellent at suggesting new formats and delivery methods to increase the impact of promotions on NewsOK.
I had the pleasure of working with Brian on several websites and graphic design projects through Arjaybi’s Concepts, LLC. He was GREAT at executing the myriad of ideas I would have for a project. He offered suggestions that helped to solidify what I couldn’t quite articulate myself. When it came to design, he was very thorough and always delivered on-time! Over the course of 4 projects, each one was a pleasant experience from start to finish.
How would I describe the ideal graphic and Web designer? Creative. Innovative. Fearless. Adaptable. Diligent. That is also how I would describe Brian Mays. While working with him in an educational setting, I have witnessed these traits on display time and time again.
Brian listens to my requests, creates multiple product options, and usually exceeds my expectations in doing so. He employs a variety of methods and resources to stay on the cutting edge of design and technology, both practically and ideologically. Brian always has a passion-driven, self-made idea brewing in mind – and he’s fearless and relentless in bringing it to fruition.
If I were needing a graphic or a Web site designed, there’s nobody else I’d go to before Brian Mays.
I worked with Brian at OPUBCO and I remember when he first started there. A new, fresh face with lots of great ideas. He has never lost that enthusiasm. He was constantly learning and trying new things. I believe he advanced the print and digital advertising for our group more than anyone else. To this day, Brian is heavily involved with the graphic community in Oklahoma City, showing great leadership.
But Brian isn’t just strictly business; he’s the kind of guy that’s super easy to work with and fun to be around—especially if you’re a geek like me! His love for sci-fi (Star Wars in particular—kudos!) is just one of the many things that let you know he’s a totally humble and approachable guy. It’s not often you meet people who are both tech savvy AND people savvy. That’s Brian. And I think you’ll love working with him.
Brian is one of the most creative people I have ever known. His creativity and imagination, coupled with professional experience and intuition make him a valuable asset to have in any organization. More importantly, during the 30+ years that I have known Brian, he has exemplified the integrity and loyalty that you expect from a friend and more than what I’ve come to expect from a contractor or consultant.
In times that I have consulted with Brian or used his creative services, he has provided very honest and useful feedback. His advice is always delivered in a tactful and professional manner that complements his enthusiasm for his craft. As a business owner this is crucial for helping me see the right direction without feeling defensive.
On the topic of loyalty, Brian’s loyalty is strengthened by his integrity. In situations where called for, Brian is not afraid to let people know that what they are doing is out of line. This is a hard quality to find in the world of relativity we live in today.
In my life and work, I can think of very few people that I would trust my friendship and business with as much as I do Brian.
